10 Minutes Besan-Soy Flour Laddu - Chickpea-Soy Flour Laddu

Besan-Soy flour Laddu for you!
Few years ago I was looking for healthy and quick recipe that my friends would enjoy without much hesitation. I came across this recipe that I tried with my own touch. It is a microwaveable recipe and it can be made in minutes. It is protein rich sweet. I am sure you will like this recipe as some of you had already tasted and liked these laddus during the Navarathiri Golu visit. So here goes the recipe....

Preparation time: 5 min
Cooking time: 5 min
Making Laddu balls: 5 - 10 min

Main Ingredients(Sugar not shown)
Serving size: 15

Ingredients
  • Besan flour - 1 cup
  • Soy flour - 1/2 cup
  • Cardamom - 4 or 5pods
  • Cloves - 2 nos
  • Rava - 1 tbsp
  • Ghee(unmelted) - 6 tsp
  • Salt - 1 pinch
  • Cashews/Almonds(roasted) - 10 or 15 nos
  • Raisins(optional) - few
  • Sugar - 3/4 cup(increase the amount if you want it more sweet)
Note:
  • We get laddu besan from grocery stores. If using that flour then you can skip using the Rava. I used the normal besan flour so used the Rava for coarse texture.
  • Feel free to use a mixture of nuts to get added taste and health benefits.
  • Melt ghee, add both the flours, mix and microwave

Preparation
  1. If the nuts are not already roasted, roast the nuts and pulse it in mixie/blender to get coarse pieces.
  2. Powder the cardamon and cloves and set aside.
  3. Powder the sugar and set aside.
Note:
  • Adding the cloves prevents ladoo sticking to the teeth while eating.
  • Spices, sugar, nuts - mix and microwave for 30 seconds
Cooking
  1.  Melt the ghee. If you microwave, melt it for 40 seconds.
  2. To the melted ghee, add the rava, soy flour, besan and mix well. The resulting mixture will have the consistency of thick paste.
  3. Microwave the mixture on medium/high heat for 3 minutes making sure you take the mix out of the microwave after every minute and give it a nice mix. The mix now has the consistency of wet sand.
  4. Add the powdered cardamom and cloves, coarsely pulsed nuts and powdered sugar and mix well.
  5. Microwave the flour mixture for 30 seconds.
  6. Allow the besan-soy flour mixture to cool down for 5 - 10 minutes.
  7. When the mixture is warm enough to handle with your palm, start making the laddu balls. Optionally you can stick in a raisin and make the laddu.
  8. When the laddu mixture is warm start making the balls
  9. Mouth watering besan-soy flour laddu is ready to eat.
Note:
  • If you think that the laddu  mixture is little bit dry and you are not able to make the balls, add about a tsp of ghee or as required and make the balls, just make sure you don't add too much of ghee.
