like to eat them. We can be a little bit creative and come up with interesting food like the "Fried Finger Idli" from the left over Idli's. My son likes both the fresh idlis and the fried idlis but he prefers the fried idli for the lunch because its easy to eat in school rather than having idli with the chutney or sambar. It is also a better alternative to french fries. The best of all it takes only 5 minutes to make it, doesn't that sound good for a lunch menu in this busy world? Here you go with the recipe......
Left over idlis sliced to longer pieces |
Serving size: 1(kid)
Ingredients
Left over idlis(2)
2 - 3 spoons of oil
1 tsp Idli Podi/powder
Idlis friend in a pan |
- Cut the idli's into long slices almost the size of a finger.
- Add 3 spoons of oil in a heated frying pan.
- Add the sliced idlis and fry till golden brown.
- Switch off the stove and add the idli powder.
- See to that the idli powder coats well on the fried idli's.
- The fried idli is now ready to be served.
The idli is made from fermented rice& urad dhal dough which has the good bacteria essential for the body. The Idli Podi is made from lentils like channa dhal and urad dhal which is rich in protein.
