Sweet Wheat Dosa and Paniyaram

The sweet wheat dosa is an easy to make, nutrition packed snack. Kids like to call it wheat pancakes. With the batter mix prepared for the dosa you can also make paniyarams or mini cakes.  The ingredients used in this recipe should usually be in your homes so its an instant recipe that takes 20 - 25 minutes. The ingredients added for the dosa are filled with nutrients that gives energy for kids. Both my kids love it and have special liking for paniyarams.

Main Ingredients

Ingredients

Whole Wheat flour - 1 cup
Banana - 1 (ripe)
Cardamom - 2
Jaggery - 1/2 cup
Grated Coconut - 1 tbsp
Cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp
Fennel seeds - 1/2 tsp
Roasted nuts - 1 fistful
Salt - 1 pinch
Oil


Preparation
    Mix all the ingredients for the batter
     
  1. If you don't have roasted nuts, dry roast the nuts for 5 minutes and grind it coarsely.
  2. Heat 1/2 cup of water and dissolve the jaggery in it.
  3. In a vessel, add the wheat flour, ripened banana cut into smaller pieces, powdered cardamom, grated coconut, cumin seeds, fennel seeds, pinch of salt, coarsely grinded nuts, filtered jaggery water and form a thick batter mix.
 Cooking Dosa
Cook dosa and paniyaram
  1. Bring pan to low heat and make dosa with 1 ladle spoon of batter.
  2. Add 1/4 to 1/2 tsp of oil around the dosa.
  3. Cook until it is golden brown on both sides. Take care not to burn the dosa.
  4. Serve hot for kids. Try one for yourself and enjoy the taste.
 Cooking Paniyarams
  1. Bring the paniyaram vessel to low heat.
  2. Add about 1/4 spoon of oil in each dip and add 1 spoon batter in each dip.
  3. Flip the paniyarams after a minute.
  4. Remove after a minute and serve hot for kids.
