Crispy Kale Chips to taste |
Kale chips is one snack/appetizer you can eat without any guilt :). I thought only me and my husband would eat it but, whenever I make it my kids finish it off. The only ingredients required for the recipe are just Kale, olive oil and sea salt.
Preparation time: 5 min
A bunch of Kale |
5 min(in toaster oven)
Serving size: 4
Ingredients
- Kale - 1 bunch
- Olive oil - 5 tsp (add more if needed)
- Salt to taste (prefer sea salt)
Remove the leaves from stem and tear into small pieces |
- Preheat oven to 350F
- Wash the Kale and dry the leaves with paper-towel/cloth or shake off as much water droplet as possible. If the Kale has water then the chips may turn out soggy.
- Tear the Kale leaves into small pieces.
- Add olive oil and spread the oil evenly on the leaves with your hand.
- Spread the Kale leaves on a baking tray. You can use parchment paper on the baking tray if you want to.
- Sprinkle some sea salt on the leaves.
Bake at 350F |
Check in the middle to make sure Kale doesn't get burned |
- Place the baking tray in the oven and bake the Kale for 10 minutes at 350F.(If using toaster oven keep the temp at 300F and bake for 5 minutes).
- Keep an eye on the oven to make sure Kale doesn't get burnt. Just 2 minutes more in oven can burn the Kale. That is something I learned from trial and error.
- Remove from oven and serve crispy and hot Kale chips.
- Sprinkle pepper powder or chilli powder to spice it up and enjoy.
